Mountain Research x Sassafras Grower's Smock

from Mountain Research

'Gardener Meets Grower' is a capsule collaborative concept for the SS20 season of Farming Research developed by Sassafras's Takashi Tagaki and Mountain Research's Setsumasa Kobayashi based on their shared love of the hard-wearing utilitarian garments of gardeners and farmers. The two designers have known one another for years, but this marks the first official collaboration between the two brands.

The Mountain Research x Sassafras Grower's Smock is a reworked version of the Sassafras Landscaper Shell Half Smock constructed of a supple summer-weight cotton canvas fabric and embellished with a striking series of woven red bands, a hallmark of the 'Gardener Meets Grower' garment. The Smock-style outer layer features a two-button half placket, double front pouch pockets, and a row of stash swing pockets easily accessed by lifting the front hem. It's finished with buttoned cuff closures, and dual branded tagging at the interior collar.
