Cash Money Rules by Richard R Ross
from Labour Tapes
Cash Money Rules by Richard Ross is a fascinating time capsule documenting a day in the life of the Cash Money Records family shortly after Bryan "Baby" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams inked their $30 Million dollar distribution deal with Universal Records in 1998.
Ross was originally commissioned to photograph the crew by London-based Trace Magazine on the eve of their ascendency to star status. His pictures–shot on small point-and-shoot cameras over the course of an 8-hour day–offer a candid, unadorned look at The Hot Boyz, Slim, and a young Lil Wayne as they do the rounds in their native New Orleans.
