ADN Jacket Natural Woad Blue
The ADN Jacket in Natural Woad Blue is a soft jacket made of a light and tightly-woven cotton gabardine fabric. Its shape is wide with a relaxed, boxy fit and a large back pleat. In the classic french work jacket style, the ADN is adorned with three exterior front pockets, and a single pocket at the interior chest. The jacket is finished with contrasting Navy Blue buttons, and a drawcord at the waist.
This season's Arpenteur ADN Jacket is one of many styles hand-dyed with pastel blue vegetable dye. The pastel blue pigment is derived from the leaves of Isatis Tinctoria, a plant which grows in the Southwest of France. This item was soaked by hand in several successive dye baths, which mainly consist of pastel blue pigments and warm water. This dyeing process requires a lot of time and precision to obtain its exceptional bright colors, which are impossible to achieve with synthetic dyes. It is an art only very few craftsmen still master.
Like all naturally hand-dyed items, variations from piece-to-piece are unavoidable, and while everything has been done to prevent it, some dye migration is possible.
